Garcia Little Red Schoolhouse
The red-brick Garcia Schoolhouse was built in 1905 on land donated by Don Ignacio Garcia, considered the ""father of Wickenburg education"". The present building replaced a small wooden building brought from the Vulture Mine and erected in 1895.
Today, the building houses a pictorial and written history of early education in and around Wickenburg. They have copies of yearbooks dating back to 1921 and many vintage photographs. The collection includes copies of the Board of Trustees Minutes from 1884 - 1930, and written oral histories of former students of the school. There is a replica of a schoolroom from the early 1900s on display. The exhibit was created in collaboration with the Desert Caballeros Western Museum.
The Schoolhouse also serves as the offices of the WCO and music program.
