With the grand opening of its recent $50 million expansion, Phoenix Art Museum has re-invented the museum experience, with activities and pleasures for all the senses. One of the nation's leading art museums, it is a popular Valley oasis with unique and stunning exhibitions of the world's best art, casual and fun events and activities, Movies at the Museum, Music at the Museum, video and light installations, an MP3 audio guide to the art, great shopping and dining, a one-acre sculpture garden and many comfortable architectural niches where one can just relax and rejuvenate.

      04/07/12- 07/08/12	Gustave Baumann: Artisan Printmaker of the Southwest Phoenix Art Museum Gustave Baumann: Artisan Printmaker of the Southwest Presented by Phoenix Art Museum at Phoenix Art Museum April 7-July 8, 2012 Traveling from Illinois to New Mexico in the summer of 1918 left a lasting impression on Gustave Baumann (1881-1971). Captivated by its magnificent and exotic landscape he settled in the Southwest and drew on its natural beauty for his color woodblock prints. He became one of the most accomplished and popular artists working in Santa Fe during the early twentieth century.

This exhibition illustrates designer's fascination with both the palette, forms and textures of the ocean throughout time, and features both historical garments and contemporary works by international fashion designers including John Paul Gaultier, Prada and Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, among others.
