Practical Art is a different type of art gallery. At Practical Art, everything has a function, is useful and is locally handcrafted. Practical Art carries items made of all types of natural materials ? wood, glass, paper, metal or fiber ? and offers all types of items intended to fit into your everyday living: kitchen wares, furniture, jewelry, clothing, garden items and more!

Practical Art holds events and demonstrations that are free and open to the public at least once a month. You will find craft demonstrations, receptions for emerging artists or classes on topics of interest.

    05/01/12- 05/31/12	Yeti Leaves Home Practical Art Yeti Leaves Home Presented by Practical Art at Practical Art May 1-May 31, 2012 This is an exhibition of the 25 original watercolor illustrations ushered into existence by Jennifer Campbell's brush and Troy Harris' words. Together they created Yeti Leaves Home, a children's book that tells the tale of one young Yeti's travels as he sets out to find a home for himself, because at some point in our lives, the place and people we grew up with are not ours to call home anymore. Join Yeti through his many trials and triumphs and share the joy of all the friends he meets...
    07/08/11- Ongoing	Shelter by Heather Stevenson Practical Art Shelter by Heather Stevenson Presented by Practical Art at Practical Art July 8, 2011 - Ongoing "We all seek shelter. It is as important as food and water. It can be found everywhere, tangibly or intangibly. It is our home, our memories, our safety, our comfort: the branches of a tree, a warm embrace, a fond childhood memory, or the escapism of a passionate interest. Photography is where I find my shelter." Artist Reception is on Friday, July 8, 2011, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Snacks and drinks will be served, free and open to the public, no RSVPs...
    06/03/11- Ongoing	Henry Albatross (and other fictions) by Joseph Ward Practical Art Henry Albatross (and other fictions) by Joseph Ward Presented by Practical Art at Practical Art June 3, 2011 - Ongoing Joseph Ward's oil paintings use the implied history of portraiture as the framework for a fictional narrative, that of Henry Albatross. The sequence of paintings draws on a comic strip format to follow Henry Albatross as he observes his surroundings. Other walls in the gallery will be populated with additional characters that not only inform the life of Mr. Albatross, but suggest worlds of their own.
    04/03/11- Ongoing	Socrates Cafe Practical Art Socrates Cafe Presented by Practical Art at Practical Art April 3, 2011 - Ongoing Don't be afraid...you don't need to know anything about philosophy. In fact, you don't even need to talk. Socrates Cafe is a way to participate in (or observe) an in person engaging conversation between actual humans. It's a dying art, so throw away your cell phones and join Practical Art every 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month. Anyone and everyone is welcome to chat, listen, or shop.

Wine Education and Entertainment on a journey of the senses. This tasting and dialogue will offer tips on how to identify and discuss characteristics of your favorite wines, and as Jessica says, "Wine tasting isn't so much about whetting your whistle as it is about exploring the world through your senses from the comfort of your own space."

The imagery is full of mischief, mayhem, sweetness, absurdity, and random fun. There may even be possible baby unicorn sightings along with secret info that was painstakingly researched by the artist about the mysterious and elusive baby unicorn species.
