DANCE

The 1950's SKYE Sock Hop
November 16, 2011
The sock hop was an informal sponsored dance at American high schools during the 1950's. The term sock hop came about because dancers were required to remove their shoes to protect the varnished floor of the gymnasium. In subsequent decades, the practice of removing shoes was dropped - socks or sneakers, we don't care!! Just bring your dancing feet to Skye's Sock Hop featuring the live music of The Realtones.
