Shakespeare at the Biltmore: A Midsummer Night's Dream
June 2-June 11, 2011
The Arizona Biltmore is partnering for the second summer in a row with Southwest Shakespeare Company to present classic productions at the resort - A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare.
Certainly the most enchanting and magical comedy Shakespeare ever penned, Midsummer continues to thrill audiences both young and old. Join us for an evening of thwarted lovers, transfigured humans, comic rustics, and all out war in the Fairy World. Beginning on Theseus' and Hyppolyta's wedding day, the play moves into the magic and mystery of the Athenian woods on a dark midsummer night.
The theater series will be a highlight of the Arizona Biltmore's second-annual, blockbuster "Hollywood & Wine" festival. The summer-long, Hollywood-themed festival, running Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend, includes celebrity bands in concert including Randy Newman and Fab Faux, wine tastings with celebrity winemakers, Hollywood professionals revealing their creative secrets in special presentations, movie screenings and much more.
