Burnt Leftovers by Greg Corman
April 1-April 30, 2011
Tucson-based artist Greg Corman's medium of choice is another man's trash: old rusty nails, car parts, and other scrap metals are salvaged to adorn blocks of wood that have been carved, burned, and burnished to become works of art. Greg uncovers the beautiful textures and forms that are hidden beneath the planed surfaces of dimension lumber, developing inspired pieces for both indoors and out. These works are sturdy enough to be displayed indoors or out, and in many cases, can be converted to native bee habitats for you avid agriculturalists!
Join the reception on Friday, April 8, at 7:00pm. Snacks and drinks will be served, free and open to the public, no RSVPs necessary.
