RACE: Are We So Different?
October 10, 2010-January 2, 2011
We all know that people look different. Throughout history, those differences have been a source of strength, community and personal identity. They have also been the basis for discrimination and oppression. The story of race is complex and may challenge how we think about race and human variation, about the differences and similarities among people. RACE: Are we so Different? encourages visitors to explore the science, history and everyday impact of race and racism. Looking through the eyes of history, science and lived experience, RACE helps visitors understand what race is and what it is not. Be sure to check out the calendar of special exhibit-related events! Presented locally by APS and The Arizona Republic.
