With thousands of cable channels and 24 hour news and e-mail, we can sometimes feel overwhelmed with facts, figures, details and statistics. In a similar way, medical researchers are now using technologies which produce massive amounts of data about diseases. This talk will discuss why data overload causes problems in disease research, and how the field of biomedical informatics is helping to resolve them.
