The Miracle Worker
April 22-May 29, 2011
| Read Reviews/Comments
A powerfully triumphant exploration by playwright William Gibson traverses the oft-turbulent relationship of deaf and blind Helen Keller and her fascinating, dedicated teacher Annie Sullivan, herself partially blind and dubbed "miracle worker" by none other than Mark Twain. The journey of Helen's increasing ability to function in the world includes frequent physical struggles between the two as well as the "miracle" of Helen's utterance of "wah wah" (water), her first ever comprehension that word-sounds have meaning.
