A Midsummer Night's Dream promises to be one of the most wildly creative, visually stunning, and conceptually provocative Shakespeare productions Southwest Shakespeare Company has ever produced. This is not your usual Shakespeare production! This is Midsummer like you have never seen it before and it will take you into the heart of Shakespeare's text in ways that the company has never attempted in the past.

This production will be under the direction of the brilliant and acclaimed animator Don Bluth. Bluth is most known for his work on films such as The Secret of Nimh, An American Tail and The Land Before Time. Set in a 1930's film studio, with Midsummer, Bluth will dazzle the audience with a visual contrast of color between the real world and the fairy world.

A Midsummer Night's Dream is certainly the most enchanting and magical comedy Shakespeare ever penned. It continues to thrill audiences both young and old. Join in for an evening of thwarted lovers, transfigured humans, comic rustics, and all out war in the Fairy World. Beginning on Theseus' and Hyppolyta's wedding day, the play moves into the magic and mystery of the world of the creative imagination, and the deep, dark woods that exist in all our dreams!

Important Information: As a courtesy to our artist and patrons, any disruptive person(s) will be asked to leave. This performance is recommended for a mature audience. Children under the age of six are not allowed at Southwest Shakespeare Company performances.
