The Children's Museum of Phoenix will open its most amazing exhibit ever: The Schuff-Perini Climber, a 37 foot tall, 50 ton, jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring, nothing-like-it-anywhere-else-in-the-world climbing structure. The iconic exhibit is a much-anticipated milestone for the nearly two-year-old museum.
Made of 50 tons of steel, the installation of the Climber began late September, 2009. Since then, visitors have watched the Museum's three-story-high atrium transform from an open, airy space into an amalgam of stairs, troughs, low climbing experiences and high climbing places.
The Climber is a one-of-a-kind climbing structure for children and adults alike to enjoy. It will be unique to the state, the country and the world! The Climber is the signature piece for the forty-five thousand square foot Children's Museum of Phoenix, and joins the Museum's 15 other hands-on, educational theme areas.
