The final concert of the Phoenix Girls Chorus 2009-2010 Season, "A Night for Singing", provides a kaleidoscope of Broadway and choral favorites. Songs enhanced by choreography come from The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Anyone Can Whistle, Babes in Arms, The Fantastiks, Jubilee, a variety of other representative shows, and sparkle with the enthusiasm and talent of 180 girls from seven to 18. Other choral highlights include "Kayama" from Songs of the World, an incomparable jazz song, "Come Rain or Come Shine", and the superb spiritual, "Music Down in My Soul. Add to these the ever popular "La Cucaracha", and a medley of Broadway favorites in the finale and you cannot help but hear one song that has a distinctive memory for you! Ten graduating seniors will be honored at this, their last official concert with the choir. Some of the graduates have been with the program for up to eleven seasons, most of their growing up years. We never say goodbye, but just farewell until we meet again.
