Science Caf?: Facts or Hype - What is the Media Telling Us About Nano and Other New Technologies?
March 19, 2010
From lipstick to computer chips, nanotechnology is already many of the things we buy. It gets worked into the plots of Hollywood movies and sci-fi stories. So are we getting the real story about nano? This month, journalists debate how the news media is reporting on the emergence of nanotechnology. Is the press guilty of nano-hype? Do we hear more about risks than benefits? Does it really matter if the public understands science and technology? Guest would be Joe Kullman, Media Relations Officer, Fulton School of Engineering of Arizona State University.
