PlayBall: The Cactus League Experience
February 25-August 7, 2011
Batter! Batter! Pow!...and it's outta the ballpark, folks! Arizona Museum For Youth is set to hit a home run with upcoming exhibition: PlayBall!
Spring training has a long, lucrative and influential history in Arizona, dating back to at least 1909. PlayBall celebrates over 100 years of professional baseball in Arizona as it walks you through a professional baseball timeline from the sporty, barnstorming days before statehood to the inauguration of the Cactus League in 1947, up to present day with 14 teams set to play the 2010 spring training season.
The interactive and educational exhibition will treat visitors to stories of the players, teams and ballparks that the legendary boys of summer experienced when working hard each spring in the desert.
