Founded in 1926, The Martha Graham Dance Company is the oldest contemporary dance company in America. Exploring legendary choreographer Martha Graham's creative revolution and the birth of modern dance, the troupe presents Prelude and Revolt, a multi-media theatrical event complete with narration, projections and performances of her seminal works spanning the years 1906?36. This performance is part of the Art in Motion Series sponsored by the Daron and Ron Barness Family Foundation. Martha Graham Dance Company: Prelude and Revolt: Early Masterpieces of American Modern Dance was made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts' American Masterpieces: Dance initiative, administered by the New England Foundation for the Arts.
