Acoustic Brotherhood
February 12, 2010
Los Lonely Boys (guitarist Henry Garza and his siblings, bassist Jojo and drummer Ringo, Jr.) hit the ground running in 2003 with their triple-platinum self-titled debut release, winning a Grammy for its No. 1 global hit "Heaven." Their influences are legion, ranging from Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray Vaughan to mentors Santana and Willie Nelson, but in the end, it's about brotherhood-all three members of this Texican trio give the group musical dynamics and vocal harmonies that can only come with genetic bonds. They are joined by Alejandro Escovedo who has journeyed through several musical incarnations in his 20-plus-year career from punk rock and Carrie Rodriguez, the feisty fiddle-playing, mandoguitar-slinging singer/songwriter from Brooklyn who adds some "chica" to the Brotherhood.
