Allan Houser: Tradition to Abstraction
November 18, 2009-August 22, 2010
For the first time ever, visitors can see the breadth of Chiricahua Apache artist Allan Houser's work at two of the Valley's most prestigious destinations: the Desert Botanical Garden and the Heard Museum. Considered one of the best-known and celebrated American Indian artists of the 20th century, Houser's work has been widely recognized throughout the world. The exhibition will feature paintings and sculpture that show the depth and range of works by this talented and honored artist, whose work became more abstract toward the end of his career.
