Blood Wedding
November 20-November 22, 2008
Blood Wedding is the story of passions that run deeply and the price that can be exacted for following those passions. A young man from a wealthy family has proposed to a young woman he has known for three years. His mother is reluctant to approve the marriage because of the intended bride's connection to the Felix family, a family that had a hand in the murder of the mother's husband and elder son. However, she agrees to the marriage despite the fact that the bride was once engaged to Leonardo Felix. Leonardo has since married the Bride's cousin and started a family. However, as the wedding draws closer, Leonardo visits the bride and it is obvious that they both still have deep feelings for each other. On the day of the wedding, shortly after everyone returns from the church, Leonardo and the Bride run away together. The families search for them in the forest but the Moon and the Beggar Woman (representing Death) are waiting.
